Jamie Oliver Restaurant in Bangkok is called ‘Jamie’s Italian’, located at the ground floor of the newly renovated Siam Discovery Mall (the one between Siam Paragon and MBK mall). This new Jamie Oliver restaurant is quite large as it can accommodate up to 200 guests, but it manages to remain friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant is decorated in a casual way with wood flooring, old fashioned school chairs and wooden cafe tables easy to assemble for our group of friends. The room is lit with warm tones contrasting with the cold city lights coming form large windows open on the busy intersection. The whole things is buzzing with customers and brasserie activity.
As we were a group of 8 we got to order a lot of dishes, always better when you try a new place. All the dishes were good and well presented (the spaghetti rolled as a tower seems to be a signature shape). The cured meats and cheese served on a wooden plank perched on top of 2 tomato cans seem to also be a signature move from Jamie Oliver. We were about to open those tomato cans when the waitress told us what it was actually for, which was fun. We had antipasti, prawn linguine (apparently a famous dish of Jamie’s Italian) , raviolis, cannelloni and all kinds of pastas cooked al dente the way we like them, calamari, lamb chops and even some excellent pizza.
Overall food and prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is very warm and staff is very smiling, making this new Jamie Oliver restaurant a potential winner and great place to hang with friends after a day shopping in Bangkok!
